Search forms send the name, phone number, or address you enter to the outside provider that delivers the results. Columbia People Search does not retain those search terms on its own servers. When you contact us, we receive the details included in your message and use them to answer you.
Information Collected Automatically
Our hosting systems create ordinary server logs, which can contain an IP address, browser type, visited pages, and timestamps. Aggregated log data helps maintain the service and shows which resources visitors use. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and, when present, advertising measurement.
How the Data Is Used
The limited information described here supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and page improvements. We neither sell a visitor list nor create individual user profiles.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links may lead to government portals, Maury County and Tennessee offices, archive collections, or outside search services. Information entered after leaving Columbia People Search falls under the destination's privacy rules. Sponsored results are also supplied by a separate company whose practices are governed by its own policy.
When Data May Be Shared
Vendors that host or support the service may process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising providers may receive the automatic information already described. Data may also be disclosed in response to valid legal process; visitor information is not otherwise shared.
Safeguarding Visitor Data
An encrypted connection serves the site, and server logs are kept only for as long as the stated purposes require. Because visitors do not create accounts, Columbia People Search stores no user password or account profile.
Visitors Under Age 18
Columbia People Search is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect a minor's personal information. Contact us if you believe someone under 18 submitted such information so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Privacy rights vary with residence and applicable law. The Tennessee Information Protection Act, Tenn. Code Ann. ยงยง 47-18-3301 et seq., gives qualifying Tennessee consumers rights involving access, correction, deletion, portability, and certain opt-outs when a covered business processes their data. Because we hold very little, a request generally involves checking contact messages and available logs. Submit one through the Contact page. Records held by Columbia, Maury County, or Tennessee agencies remain outside our control and must be addressed with the custodian.
